What is BPH?

Benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH, is the enlargement of the male prostate gland. It is a very common part of the aging process, however, BPH a considerably uncomfortable condition which can become progressively worse, especially if left untreated.

When men reach their 30's the prostate begins to grow, but the symptoms of BPH become evident only around the age of 50. Every other man over the age of 50 is affected by BPH and by the time they reach 80 the ratio rises to four out of five men.
